Background

The current app's time keeping system requires a supervisor to take the clinician's phone, input their unique pin, and review before confirming the timesheet. If a clinician can't find a supervisor, then they can select "Supervisor Unavailable" option which will record their time and location of the check out; however, this automatically sets the timesheet to pending. Pending timesheets require additional review and often times follow up by our Timesheet Operations team, which could delay payment of the shift to the clinician. The rate of timesheets ending up in pending has increased year over year which has led to more frustration for our clinicians. On the flip side, the facility were getting more inundated with emails which has led to an increase in case load for our internal teams. Supervisors also questioned the security of using a pin, as there had been instances of clinician committing timesheet fraud.

So how did we solve for the absence of a supervisor while elevating security with our check in and check out process? Check out the video!
